The Rugby Union Writersβ Club.
We exist to the further the interests of rugby union, and our members. Established in 1960, at the Albany pub in Twickenham, the RUWC organises social events, our annual lunch and awards, and pushes for better access and working facilities for all rugby journalists. Our members work in the UK, and around the world, across the media spectrum, in written, broadcast and photographic journalism.
RUWC Awards
We have been crowning our rugby personality of the year since 1976. From Mervyn Davies to Ellie Kildunne, our reigning champion, the great and the good have won this coveted prize.
The club also hand out the Investec Special Award, to those who have transcended the game, achieved extraordinary sporting or fundraising feats or shown incredible strength in adversity.
Grassroots heroes and other luminaries from across the game are honoured with tankards, at our annual lunch each May.
